Export

Export your WordPress site as a .zip file and install it on any hosting provider.

Overview

Exporting your site gives you complete flexibility to host your WordPress site anywhere. You’ll get a complete backup that includes:

  • All your WordPress files
  • Your database
  • Themes and plugins
  • Media uploads and content

How to Export Your Site

Follow these three simple steps to export and deploy your site to any hosting provider.

Step 1: Download the .zip File

  1. Install a WordPress backup plugin on your site (we recommend plugins like All-in-One WP Migration, Duplicator, or UpdraftPlus)
  2. Navigate to the plugin’s backup/export section
  3. Click Export to create a complete backup of your site
  4. Download the generated .zip file to your computer

Step 2: Get WordPress Hosting

Choose any WordPress hosting provider that fits your needs. Popular options include:

  • Shared Hosting: Bluehost, SiteGround, HostGator
  • Managed WordPress: WP Engine, Kinsta, Flywheel
  • Cloud Hosting: DigitalOcean, AWS, Google Cloud
  • VPS Hosting: Linode, Vultr

Step 3: Import the .zip File

  1. Install the same backup plugin you used in Step 1 on your new WordPress installation
  2. Navigate to the plugin’s import/restore section
  3. Click Import and select your downloaded .zip file
  4. Upload the file and wait for the import to complete
  5. The plugin will restore your entire site, including database, files, and settings
